Why
is World South.Net so inexpensive? What is the catch?
World
South.Net dial-up internet service is just 17.95 per month simply
because we are not trying to be all things for all people. At less
cost than the "big providers", we are able to use the same
networks and technology they do, but without the vast overhead.
World
South.Net started as a low-cost Internet Service Provider. We are
able to keep our pricing down because of several smart business moves
including: 1. We're based in a small town which gives us
lower costs; 2. Although we love NASCAR, we don't have to generate
extra profits to cover a multi-million dollar sponsorship; 3.
World South.Net was built from the ground up on the low-cost model; 4.
Our customers love our services and help their friends sign-up, saving
us the overhead of expensive advertising to get new customers.
Our goal is
to provide a quality, low-cost, 56K dial-up connection and to have
unparalleled customer satisfaction. That's it!
Is
there a free trial period? (Back
to Top)
Yes! But it is only a 10-day period. If you cancel within the
first 10 days of your account being activated, you will receive a full
refund of the subscription price. We will always try to solve any
performance or technical issues that you may have within that 10-day
period. If we were charging 23 plus dollars a month for our service,
then a free trial period, or a "1000 hours for the first month for
free," would not be an issue. But we aren't and never will. We did
not elevate our pricing to cover such "promotions". This is
what our subscribers have told us is important to them.
What
happens if I want my money back after the grace period?
If you decide that you want to terminate your service with World South
after your 10-day free trial period has expired, and you have purchased
semi-annual or annual service then your account will be assessed a
$25.00 termination fee and converted to a month-to-month account. You
will then be refunded the difference. There are no refunds on
month-to-month accounts after the 10-day free trial period..
Can
I pay in advance for a years service? (Back
to Top)
Yes you can and we have discounted the rates if you do prepay. This is a
great way to get Internet access at the lowest possible rate.

How
fast will I connect using World South.Net? (Back
to Top)
World
South.Net provides an industry standard "56K" dial-up
connection. Your modem, the telephone lines, and switches in your
area, and user traffic determine the actual speed at which you connect.
World South.Net uses modern equipment to provide you with the best
connection we possibly can, but with so many aspects involved in getting
the connection to you, it is easy to see why connect speeds will vary.
Does
World South.Net offer dedicated access or static IP's? (Back
to Top)
At this
time, we do not. Most users have absolutely no need for either of
these services. Our cost savings is derived from not trying to be
all things to all people. By keeping our product offering simple,
we keep our price among the lowest you can find anywhere without
compromising customer satisfaction.
Does
World South.Net put any kind of banners or bars on your computer?
The only
advertising you may experience are the ads of our affiliates.
These are added to the site in a way that does not interfere with the
information provided on the site. These affiliate ads are there
for two reasons: 1. They create an income for World
South.Net to allow us to keep our internet access prices down. 2.
They are a convenience to our subscribers to shop online in places that
are safe, secure, and the best deals we can provide. As a free
service to our customers, we provide information on locations to
download pop-up ad busters. It is available on request.
Because you, our customers, are surfing the site, please be sure to
inform us if any advertising is obtrusive or offensive and we will make
every effort to remove it.

to Top)
All
e mail inquiries are answered within 24 hours, usually within 12 hours
and sometimes, depending on the volume in queue, in real time. The e

What's
the difference between customer support and technical support?
Customer support simply pertains to account info. You want
to change the credit card or checking account you have your subscription
on. You need to add a 2nd e-mail box to your account. You want to change
your password. These are typical customer service issues. You also can
report any network outages or performance issues to customer support.
Technical support pertains to PC, software, hardware or
operating systems configurations that may apply to your internet
connectivity. We provide an on-line library of technical support
articles.
Support issues of all kinds (customer and technical) can always be
addressed via our e mail support system.
My
town is listed on your site as a local call, but the phone number listed
is normally a toll call for me. Which is it? (Back
to Top)
This network includes a number of what is known in
the Telco industry as FX #'s (foreign exchange numbers). These numbers
are data only numbers that are routed so as not to be a long distance
call from a specified local exchange to another specified local
exchange. We suggest prior to choosing one of these numbers that you
contact your local telephone service provider to determine whether the
access numbers in your area are toll free calls or if you'll incur long
distance charges. If you are unsure of a number, simply call it. When
the modem pool picks up, hang up. Then call your local Telco and ask if
that call was registered as a long distance call. Your local Telco then
should be able to confirm the actual status of that number. It is
important for all users to understand that World South only represents
that the numbers listed on the World South site or provided to you
through e mail support are the dial in modem pool's access numbers. It
is the end user's responsibility to verify whether a call to a given
number is a toll call or a local call.
